Electric

Summary

Electric is a sequential colormap from plotly. Lightness rises monotonically from 0.00 to 0.98, hue sweeps 179° from magenta to chartreuse, and order breaks under tritan simulation.

Plotly electric arc ramp; black→purple→amber.

Perceptual profile (OKLCh)

• Lightness: 0.000 → 0.981 (range 0.981, min 0.000, max 0.981); monotonic; midpoint 0.439
• Chroma: min 0.000, max 0.172, mean 0.130
• Hue: 0.0° → 99.3° (span 179.3°), path monotonic-cw; quadrants: magenta, violet, rose, red, orange, yellow, chartreuse
• Endpoint temperature: null → neutral
• Perceptual ΔE: total 164.9, mean/step 0.646, max step 1.247, smoothness 0.587, speed 0.646

Colorblind safety (ΔE under simulated CVD)

• Protanopia: ΔE total 149.0; preserves order: yes
• Deuteranopia: ΔE total 147.9; preserves order: yes
• Tritanopia: ΔE total 131.3; preserves order: no
